America Recycles Day 2014

America Recycles Day (ARD) is the only nationally recognized day dedicated to encouraging Americans to recycle and buy recycled products. Started by the recycling sector organization National Recycling Coalition in 1997, America Recycles Day has been a program of national nonprofit Keep America Beautiful since 2009. It is sponsored by private and public entities and the EPA. Scrap Metal, Copper, Aluminum, Cans, Iron and Stainless Steel recycling is a large part of the recycling process and continuing to reuse material to minimize using our raw materials around the world. America Recycles Day Highlights the Benefits of Recycling. Recycling helps to conserve natural resources and reduce greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global warming. According to the EPA, recycling one ton of aluminum cans saves the energy equivalent of 36 barrels of oil or 1,655 gallons of gasoline.
