Demolition Set for Nashville’s RCA Studio A

Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A will probably be turned into condominiums in the near future. According to the application, only the foundation will remain. An attorney for Bravo Development said the permit allows for demolition of the entire building, but the company could tear down only a portion. Built by Chet Atkins and brothers Owen and Harold Bradley, RCA Studio A has hosted everyone from Willie Nelson to Ben Folds. But the building that holds the studio and some related offices has been sold to a Nashville developer who says that, unless someone else comes up with the money to buy the building out from under him by the end of the month, he’ll level it and turn the property into high-end condos and restaurants. Tenants have to be out by Nov. 30. The developer has offered one option to save the building. He is open to selling it and will accept offers until the end of the month.
