As a prelude to the presumed start of this summers major demolition of the former Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital, the developers of the prominent Buffalo, New York site are hoping to raze one of the smaller buildings on the property. Officials from Gates Circle Holdings LLC, an affiliate of TM Montante Development Co., will be meeting with the Buffalo Planning Board on April 21 to discuss a proposal to demolish the now-empty, five-story Kaleida Health Medical Services Building B. Both are being taken down as part of a plan by Canterbury Woods to develop a seven-story, 53-unit senior independent apartment complex that will help anchor the redevelopment of the hospital site.
Reinventing Gates Circle Hospital: The site of the former Millard Fillmore Gates Hospital will be redeveloped into a vibrant, mixed-use urban district. The community development will include a grocery store, a health and wellness center, 500 residential apartments and condominiums, a 55-unit continuing care retirement community operated by Canterbury Woods, and additional office and retail space.
