Demolition is underway on Floyd Casey Stadium (Waco TX), said Brian Nicholson, Baylor University vice president for operations and facilities management. Materials recycling will be a priority during the project, as all parts of the stadium will be sorted as demolition progresses, and as much material as possible will be salvaged for scrap or recycled, according to the article. The university would give the city a cleared Floyd Casey Stadium site in exchange for a five-acre property at the corner of Interstate 35 and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard adjacent to Mc Lane Stadium. Baylor has a proposal to work with Baylor Scott & White to build an exercise science and sports medicine center at the I-35 site.
