Smart Recycling: Under the advanced recycling plan, pneumatic scrap handling equipment will separate the four types of aluminum alloy.

Ford’s 2015 F-150 will use four blends of aluminum alloy that will be separated and returned to suppliers for recycling. Under the advanced recycling plan, pneumatic scrap handling equipment will separate the four types of aluminum alloy and place them in separate containers, which will be used to haul the scrap metal back to aluminum suppliers Alcoa and Novelis. The lighter material shaves as much as 700 pounds off the 5,000-pound truck, a revolutionary change for a vehicle known for its heft and an industry still heavily reliant on steel.

It took more than two years to build the Metrodome; it took considerably less time to tear it down. Some of the wall foundations are going in, in what used to be the east parking lot.  The original demolition plan didn’t include the use of explosives, but last week crews decided it would be the best option. Rare Military Sword Found by Construction Crew in Arkansas

A lack of parking. That is one of the consistent complaints about the River Market district. As the area continues to grow and improve, the demand for parking grows. Meeting that demand has led to an interesting discovery.

Crews doing excavation work in downtown Little Rock made an unusual find: a military sword possibly dating to the early 1800s. Workers were excavating for the construction of a new parking deck at a site that once housed the Ashley mansion, built around 1820 by the prominent lawyer and U.S. Sen. Chester Ashley. Clark Construction representatives turned over the sword to the Historic Arkansas Museum.

BTF Scrap Metal is owned and operated by Brandon Ford on Hwy 980 in Rio Vista, Texas.

Brandon recently opened up his yard in February 2013. He started out in the scrap business while working with his father in the Heavy Machinery moving business and began to scrap machines that were no longer in use.
